WWW Wednesday 1/30… Bring on the Books!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The objective of the meme is to tell your viewers what you’ve recently finished reading, what you are currently reading, and what you are planning on reading in the near future. Shall we begin?

Recently Read:

Spin the Dawn (The Blood of Stars, #1)

Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim:  This was amazing! Loved every page of it and can’t wait for book two! Make sure to be on the lookout for this book when it hits shelves this coming July! Review to come!

The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1)

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater: This book did not live up to the hype… ): I’m sorry, but I found the characters so dull, and the fact that the book contains far too many trope-y, overused plot devices doesn’t help.

Blanca & Roja

Blanca & Roja by Anna Marie McLemore: If you have yet to read this book, please go do so now, BECAUSE YOU ARE MISSING OUT. Anna Marie McLemore is an amazingly talented writer, and AGH I need more of her work!! Someone please give me a copy of Wild Beauty!

Currently Reading:

The Astonishing Color of After

The Astonishing Colour of After by Emily X.R. Pan (60% through): Ugh, I feel so guilty as a reader because I’ve been reading this book for forever… Forever being like four months. Don’t get me wrong, TACOA is by no means bad… it’s actually quite wonderful! The thing is, I’m just a superrrr slow audiobook reader, so it’s been difficult getting through this one. But I’m persevering!

Blood Heir (Blood Heir, #1)

Blood Heir by Amélie Wen Zhao (42% through): Thanks for the advanced copy, NetGalley! I’m really enjoying this so far, and I cannot wait to see where the story goes!

Restore Me (Shatter Me, #4)

Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi (71% through): This really hasn’t been my jam. Overall, the Shatter Me series isn’t my favourite, but since I’ve made it this far into the series, I feel like I must force myself through the upcoming books. I mean, I really enjoyed Ignite Me, so hopefully Tahereh Mafi steps up her game and restores this series to its former glory.

To Be Read Soon:

Kingsbane (Empirium, #2)

Kingsbane by Claire Legrand: I thought that this book’s predecessor, Furyborn, was kind of meh, but I was intrigued by the plot enough to continue onto Book 2, Kingsbane, which I received an arc of off of NetGalley!

Five Feet Apart

Five Feet Apart by Various Authors: Since this book is all over the media due to the fact that it is soon to be made into a movie, I thought that I’d pick it up and give it a try! But for the sake of my mentality, I really hope that it isn’t one of the books where someone is suffering from a severe illness and romance=the cure. Smh.’

That’s it for now! What are your WWW’s? Comment down below! ☺
